December Themes
For the advent season, we joined the conspiracy! We took our themes from www.AdventConspiracy.org , an international movement to call the Church back to the real meaning of Christmas. We began on November 29th with "What Child is This", click the "November" archive link from the "Reflections" page to hear this message. The messages from December are listed below:
December 6 - "While Shepherds Watched": In the wonderful simplicity of God's plan we are challenged to Spend Less. We can so easily get caught up in all of the frenzy that we lose the joy of giving. What if we purposed to buy one less gift? Perhaps it would make what we give more personal. Perhaps we could see how simple the real celebration is.

December 13 - "Come All Ye Faithful": The paradox of the season comes about when we are challenged to Give More. Not more meaningless things, but more of our time and more of our love. Taking the time to write messages to the ones we love; to spend quality time as families; clearing some of the stress away in favor of relational joy; these are the true gifts that we should be giving.

December 20 - "Snowstorm Gathering": We postponed our Christmas Sunday service for a week because of the snowstorm. Instead, we had an informal service of Christmas Caroling, and Pastor Tom read his rendition of the Christmas Story.

December 27 - "Joy to the Whole World": The gift of Jesus Christ is meant for all. God so loved the world that He gave His Only Son! We are challenged to Love All. Opportunities abound to give to those in need. If we put less emphasis on buying unnecessary stuff, and more on ways to bless the world in Jesus' name, we can make a significant difference.
